Sunday morning found the Lewis Gals up, dressed and ready to go in record time. (considering what it usually takes to get us out the door in time for Bible classes...) Daddy's was coming home and we had phone calls every step of the
way confirming that he was really on the way. There was 2 events that nearly changed the plans, one being a missing truck to haul the trailer that had all the seabags, etc. loaded on to haul to Anderson AFB. They had all the guys loaded on a bus ready to go when they had them all unload when the truck never showed up. I can only imagine the mood of the guys at that point. (Dave later said that they were ready to load all the stuff into the bus on their laps just so they could get the heck outta there!) They "stole" a truck from a nearby construction site to pull the trailer and made it to Anderson... only to get everyone weighed in with bags, etc. to find out they weren't going to fit everyone on the plane. Some magic was performed and everyone was on the flight. Eleven long hours (on a C-17) later they landed at McChord AFB and there were tour buses and a truck waiting for them. I think they must have bribed the driver to speed because they made record breaking time to the base where we were all waiting. As the buses turned the corner into sight a huge cheer went up from the everyone waiting along the sidewalk.
Mackenzie and
Kelsey ran to Dave as soon as he
was spotted getting off the bus... Emma even went to him right away. (my friend Audree' took all the pictures of us since her hubby had already made it in on the earlier flight) Now everybody breathe a sigh of relief with me that we all survived this deployment!! I can't help but keep in the back of my mind that he is only going to be here a few short month before we start all over again, but for now everything is right in our little world and we are going to enjoy be a complete family again.

Welcome home, Dave!
Look at all that short hair!
Katie, is there a massage in your future!! I'm talking about a professional one. I'm not trying to get personal here! I think you deserve a whole day at the spa!
